Volunteers are a vital and important part of our organization. There are many opportunities at the shelter and at our events for our dedicated and trustworthy volunteers to get involved. Below are some ways you can help the animals and have a fulfilling experience.

Before volunteering, you must be 18 years of age and complete a volunteer training session. If you are a parent and have underage children that wish to volunteer they must have a parent or guardian with them at all times who has also taken the volunteer class. Our volunteer classes are held the first Saturday of every month at 10:00 A.M. in the lobby of G.S.H.S. You won’t need to register in advance but you can fill out the Volunteer Application and Release Forms and bring them with you to save a little time. The link to these forms is found at the bottom of this page. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming class!

Other Volunteer Opportunities

  • Distributing event flyers
  • Special Events – Fundraising events, parades, adopt-a-thons, Walk for the Animals, working the GSHS information booth, golf tournament, the list goes on and on!

There is always an animal that needs love or something that needs to be done at the shelter. Please consider donating some of your time to help the homeless and abandoned animals of our community.
