Sweetie Pie Beauty Pageant
We are presently interviewing businessmen in our community who would good-naturedly consider participating in our 5th Annual Sweetie Pie Beauty Pageant Event scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2008. Kick-off is in January so final selections will be made soon. If you or a gentleman you know would be interested please contact Gail Alexander at 445-2909 or gjalexander@sc.rr.com. The participant would need to dress as a woman providing their own outfits, wigs, etc. as well as commit to raising $3000 or more in sponsorship funds. This hilarious event is a crowd pleaser and sells out 4-6 weeks before the event every year! Past contestants have included Doctors, Bankers, Attorneys, Solicitor, Realtors, Chiropractors, Restaurant Owners, CEO's of large corporations, etc.! Please contact soon for more details.
The 14th Annual Home Show was a Huge Success with over $15,000 raised for all our animals. Our heartfelt thanks to Rose Anne O'Reilly and the Horry-Georgetown Home Builders Association for their efforts and commitment to the Grand Strand Humane Society.

China is a very pretty and extremely personable girl. Now only 7 months old, her family brought her here in July — because "they were moving." China should be out playing with her very own family, but while she waits patiently in a kennel, she maintains her loving personality. Please come meet this sweet young girl.
