1st Annual Puppy Plunge!

July 26, 2010 - The Grand Strand Humane Society and Wild Water and Wheels have partnered together for the first annual “Puppy Plunge” fundraising event. The Grand Strand Humane Society and Wild Water & Wheels are pleased to announce the first annual Puppy Plunge fundraiser on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Let your dogs enjoy the end of summer with a refreshing dip in the Wild Water & Wheels pools. The park will open a small pool for small dogs and a bigger pool for large dogs. The cost for a dog and a guest is $15.00 and just a guest is $10.00. Children under 2 years of age are free. Each guest will receive a hot dog and a soda. This will be a dog only swim day. People will not be able to swim in the pools. Tickets are non-refundable due to inclement weather. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Grand Strand Humane Society. Tickets can be purchased at The Grand Strand Humane Society, 3241 Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach or at Wild Water & Wheels, 910 Highway 17 South in Surfside Beach. A letter from Dixie Barkington, a Grand Strand Humane Society Resident

July 19, 2010 - My name is Dixie. I am a golden lab and everyone tells me how beautiful I am. I’m two years old and I need a home. I love people, especially kids because they like to play. I don’t understand why I’m at the Grand Strand Humane Society. I thought I did everything right. I was a good girl and I tried so hard; but I heard my family talking about how they couldn’t afford me anymore. One day they asked me if I wanted to go for a car ride. Yea! When my mommy started crying, I knew something was wrong. My daddy handed my leash to one of the nice workers at the Grand Strand Humane Society. My entire family cried as I walked away from them. I cried, too. I waited for them to come back, but they never did.

SUMMER ADOPTION SPECIAL HAS BEEN EXTENDED!

July 13, 2010 - Thanks again to the Rogers' Girls, the first 40 animals adopted will have their adoption fee WAIVED! Adopters will be responsible for paying $25.00 for after surgery pain medication and antibiotics.

Grand Strand Humane Society Announces Senior for Senior Adoption Program!

June 17, 2010 - The Grand Strand Humane Society will be instituting a special “Senior for Senior” Program. Adoption fees will be waived for people 55 years of age or over that adopt an animal at least 5 years old. For animals younger than 5 years, seniors will receive a 25% discount on adoptions. All shelter adoption programs/specials are seperate and cannot be combined.
